Scans & Watchlists

Preparation is the foundation of successful swing trading. The **Scans & Watchlists** module operates as your daily swing trade tracker, filtering the entire market down to a highly concentrated list of stocks approaching actionable breakout or buy zones.

Next Focus

The **Next Focus** list is your immediate priority watchlist. These are the stocks that are setting up *now* and could trigger an entry during the upcoming session.

Keep this list focused and small (typically 5 to 15 symbols). For each stock on your Next Focus list, write down:

  • Trigger Price: The exact price at which you will enter (e.g., breaking out of a pivot or hitting a moving average).
  • Risk Parameters: Your initial stop loss and maximum size calculated based on your risk per trade.
  • Note/Thesis: The logic behind the setup (e.g., "3-weeks tight consolidation on the 20-day EMA").

Universe

The **Universe** is your broader liquid database. Rather than tracking thousands of listed names, the Universe automatically filters the market every week using institutional-grade liquidity criteria.

Weekly Universe Filter Criteria

The system rebuilds the Universe database automatically every Monday morning using the following filters:

  • Market Capitalization: Greater than ₹1,000 Crores (skips micro-caps prone to manipulation).
  • Share Price: Greater than ₹25 (skips illiquid penny stocks).
  • Liquidity: 50-day average daily turnover greater than ₹5 Crores (ensures you can enter and exit sizes without slippage).

Automated Watchlist Scans

The scan engine runs daily EOD indicators and categorizes your Universe into specialized watchlists:

Easy Money (High Momentum)

Stocks showing institutional accumulation. Criteria: default liquidity + (1-month return >25% OR 3-month return >35% OR 6-month return >50%).

52-Week High

Stocks trading within 10% of their rolling 252-day high. Stocks near 52w highs have the least overhead resistance, making them prime breakout candidates.

IPO Watchlist

Recent listings (listing date within the last 365 days). New IPOs frequently experience major price discovery runs due to low share float.

High Volume Hitter

Stocks experiencing institutional volume spikes today (today's volume is either an all-time high or a 52-week high for that symbol). Indicates major institutional interest.
